Game Review: Solar 2
Solar 2 is a unique game which provides you the
opportunity to take the identity of an asteroid in the vast universe. The game
mechanics are fresh and interesting and the sandbox nature of the game gives
players freedom to go at their own pace.

Beginning as an asteroid, Solar 2 has you
bumping into smaller asteroids in order to gain mass to eventually evolve. The
general progression in the game begins from an asteroid to a planet, life
planet, star, large star, neutron star and eventually a blackhole. The game
feels fluid and has a simple progression which allows for an easy relaxed
experience.
Being an Indie game, the graphics are not AAA
level however Murudai (the developer) has created unique, easy looking, and easily identifiable
objects in the space of the game. The distinct objects and colours make
differentiating what is friendly and what isn't very simple, adding to the
games relaxed and easy going nature.
Missions are also available and has also been
one of the games main points of harsh criticism. The missions which are
available by simply following arrows around the players main system, have been
criticised as being overly difficult and at times seemingly impossible. The
high skill level of these missions will often leave players feeling frustrated
as they often require a few retries before being able to complete a mission

In conclusion, Solar 2 will satisfy many kinds
of players, from people who want to role-play a planet, those who want a
relaxing easy going game and those after a challenge. Solar 2 will however not
satisfy those after a long and in depth adventure, with replayability.
