First of all, Catacomb Kids is an awesome game!
Long story short, one day I was pretty bored, then I started browsing through Steam not expecting to get new game or anything. But this one game caught my eye, it was Catacomb Kids. Without any further research I got the game and lay it to see what's up. Currently the game is in its Early Access state, which means it is still in development stage or alpha stage. However, you still can buy and play it, but there will be frequent updates and changes to the game until its full release version. FourBitFriday is the creator and developer of this amazing game, you can follow him on Twitter, and also Twitch to watch the live stream of the development.

Catacomb Kids is a roguelike platformer with randomly generated world and characters every time the game is started. This game focuses on quick reactions and tactical engagement, every single thing in the game will try to kill you; starting from a small slime, deadly traps to goblin and skeleton monsters. With that being said, my average life expectancy in this game is just measured in minutes or even seconds! Because I like hardcore rogueike games, dying lots and lots of time is not problem, it just make me more intrigue to the game and strive to go further.

The game has a very amazing and complex mechanics, especially the combat mechanics. The possibilities of killing enemies are almost endless with the game mechanics, you can be creative with the environment to overcome deadly traps and beasts; once I was face to face with an Orc and in the middle of us is a pool of piranhas, when the Orc jump in to the water to get me I zapped it to death with a lighting potion -yes a lightning potion. That is just one way to deal with things, you can also lure monsters to a giant falling boulder traps and crush them if you want to. However, the enemies also can use the surroundings to kill you. The mechanics of the magics in this game also amazes me, for a game that is still in development there are a lot of works done to it already. With the magic you can freeze enemies and throw them to burning lava, or you can poison them and burn them, make them run in to spikes and die horribly.

As an indie game, Catacomb Kids has a sweet pixel-art graphics. However, don't be fooled by the cute pixel art and cartoon-ish look of the game, there are enough gore and blood in this game. Once, an Orc that wields a big axe hit me so hard, it severed my leg and arm, then I fell in to a pool of burning lava!
There are so much more things that I can discover in this game, if you like action roguelike games you'll love this! Don't waste your time and get Catacomb Kids on Steam or you can watch the gameplay in YouTube first.
Thanks! :)
